Installing popular Android mods (like Magisk) requires you to have the bootloader unlocked ahead of time. So to prepare for those videos, this tutorial will walk you through how to unlock the Pixel 6 bootloader with a simple Fastboot command.

Before we begin though, we need to have some things setup ahead of time. For example, we need to have ADB & Fastboot tools installed (linked below). We also need to enable the OEM Unlock toggle so we need to enable Developer Mode as well.

With that done, go ahead and boot the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro into Fastboot Mode and then make sure you have an established connection.

Now execute the fastboot command as mentioned and follow along with the video to confirm you want the bootloader to be unlocked.

You’ll see the Pixel 6 reboot and then bring you right back to the Android activation screen. Follow along with me in the video and you’ll be able to confirm whether or not you have successfully unlocked the bootloader.

  2. Hello! I'm in Brazil and my Google Pixel 6 connects to the network, but it doesn't receive any signal. For the first few days of use, it worked fine. About 10 days later, both calls and data signals stopped for no apparent reason. In the "choose network" option, it appears as connected (3G or 4G or 5G) and the icon at the top of the screen shows the quality of the connection (generally great, all filled in). Still, I can't make/receive calls or use the internet/data. I use the “Vivo” operator chip and they say that the problem must be some configuration in my device that is blocking the signal. I tried to use another operator's chip and the result was even worse, as I couldn't even connect to the network. I've tried to reset the network settings and even the device, but still no success. Any tips on how to solve this issue?

  4. Heyhey, my Pixel 6 Pro has a T-Mobile carrier and the OEM unlocking says that it's carrier locked. If I were to unlock the device using T-Mobile's "Device Unlock" app, would that work?

  6. I enabled Developer Mode, OEM unlocking, and USB Debugging and I also went into fastboot mode. When I go to the command prompt on Windows, it says "fastboot" is not recognized as an internet or external command…

Edit: OK, update. I forgot I installed ADB and Fastboot and then I opened CMD from that directory. Now it's blank when I type fastboot devices. Where do I install the proper drivers?

  7. So can I fully configure the phone after it's wiped or will I need to wipe it again after messing with magisk and the rest of the stuff? Sorry for the simple question, this is my first time rooting

  8. Thanks for this. Tried this with a Pixel XL original I bought as "new open box" in 2017. Found out it was a Verizon variant so I couldn't do anything with it. Bought a new Pixel 6 straight from google. Learned my lesson about buying secondhand products.

  9. Bought the pixel 6 pro from T-Mobile and the OEM unlock says unavailable on carrier locked phones. If I unlock it temporarily from T-Mobile permission you think it would work than?
