Tesla Trade-in Values | What’s My Model Y Worth After 1 Year?

This is my 2022 Tesla Model Y Long Range. I bought this car in August 2022 for $62,440, which at the time included $7,000 of options and the Destination and order fee. Now that same car is much cheaper, and its even surprising what the Tesla Trade-in offer is for this car. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe

  1. I just bought a model 3 all wheel in Sept for 44k when they had price cuts but between tax and everything it came up to 48k. That’s not including the tax credit so it will be more like 40.5k…. Long story short after 2 months we hate it and want to get rid of it. I’m nervous because of the fluctuation in pricing with Tesla. Wondering if trading it in to a local dealership would be worth it? You said it was like a 20k decrease for you. With the numbers I have you that we paid what would you do?

  2. I remember the Betamax vs the VCR. Seeing this play out with cars in entertaining. I refused to be suckered into buying an EVs, feel vindicated watching my predictions all come true;

    1) No power grid infrastructure to support a nation of EVs (90% of EVs in the USA in CA are charging from coal and natural gas power plants, 0 carbon my azz)
    2) Worthless value on EVs, especially Teslas when 5-10 years old cars neeed an additional $24k for battery replacement on a car barely worth $24k
    3) Insurance companies either refusing to insure or charging outrageous rates for EVS
    4) Unreliable charging locations and long LOOOONG waits for charging (also range anxiety)
    5) Hype wearing off and sales of new EVs plummet with industry panic (Tesla drops prices by 20% lol)
    6) Major manufacturers abandoning the EV pie in the sky snake oil promises. (Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM ***hydrogen inc***)
    7) The save the planet morons finally realizing the mass destruction and pollution of Earth to produce these cars and their batteries, not to mention the child slave labor in 3rd world countries in the lithium and cobalt mines. (Tesla pollutes the Earth more than a 20 year old ICE car until it reaches 100k miles hahaha)

    Hydrogen Fuel cell and Hydrogen combustion is coming and you wont be able to PAY someone to pull these cars out of your driveway once Tesla and others abandon support, production, and services for them. Gas stations can be converted to pumping Hydrogen 1000% easier than building charging stations

    DAMN, i'm tired of being right all the time!!!!

  3. but don't forget the interest rate, it compensates some of the loss value, I purchased my Model 3 RWD in January 2023 for $43,999 with an APR of 3.5 for 72 Months with my credit score of around 820 at the time. Now I wanted to buy another new one for $36,990 but the lowest interest I could find was around 7.5%! so is practically the same… so I decided to wait longer Im sure the 2023 Model 3 will be sold for $30,000 as soon as the new model starts selling in the USA… there will be many 2023 leftovers… yeah anyway you look at it we are getting screwed BUT BUT BUT I prefer to get screwed by Tesla, (I also own stocks) than getting FU$%ed by the oil companies and the "legacy" car dealers service departments just thinking about NOT having to change oil every 5K miles and NO need to go to gas stations, makes me sooooooooooooo Happy! my wife too that is why Im buying another one…NO MORE ICE for my wife and I

  4. During that time of 2021, there were two types of people. You either that these cars were overpriced/overrated (me), or you though it was totally worth it. Decisions were made accordingly. Just like any tech/car, the price ALWAYS goes down, especially if their main goal is to gain market share. The prices have come down enough to where now I think they are competitively priced and now I am pretty sure I will buy one as my next car. I am looking at MYLR for nearly 20k less than what my friends paid, the build quality has vastly improved as it naturally does with time, there is a long enough track record to where I do now know these cars are reliable, plus there are multiple options in inventory I can pick up in 1 day rather than 1 year. Now the question is do I wait longer? So many new EV's coming out next year, prices will only become more competitive.

  5. i just got a new 23 MYP in blue for 42k after federal tax credit, state rebate, and $3500 discount for getting an inventory vehicle. IDK why anyone would buy a used one at that price when you can get a new one for less.

  6. We’re in the same boat. Took delivery in June 2022 MYLR white/white induction. After 1 year we’re upside down about 16k-17k🤦🏽‍♂️ luckily we absolutely love it and aren’t trying to unload it anyway. Still sucks knowing how much value it’s lost.
