it doesn’t matter if the phone is from Google, Samsung or Xiaomi, they all seem to have issues with connecting to Bluetooth devices. Sometimes it happens right out of the box while other times I see it happen after the user has been using it for a little while.

So in today’s video I’ll be focusing on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro so I can show you how to fix many bluetooth connection issues that you may be experiencing. There are about 5 things we can try here, but let’s start with the most basic.

– reboot hte phone

so the first thing I want you to do is simply restart your pixel 6 smartphone. I know this sounds simple and basic, and I know that you may have already rebooted the phone and are still experiencing bug with bluetooth devices. but it’s a highly useful troubleshooting step and it’s recommended so I’ll restart my phone right along with you.

once it has booted back up, try to reconnect with that bluetooth device you’re having issues with and see if anything has been resolved. again, I know it’s a simple step but I have seen people tell me that a reboot is all that was needed.

– reset network connections

if that didn’t help, the next thing I recommend is something that is built right into the Android OS itself. we can find this by –
settings – system – reset options – reset wifi & mobile & bluetooth

now, using this bluetooth reset feature will delete all of your saved wifi and bluetooth devices. I do understand that it is a pain to add these back to the pixel 6 and pixel 6 pro again, but again, it’s much better than doing a full factory data reset and has been shown to fix these bluetooth issues for thousands of people here on my channel

– delete bluetooth app data

now, if that still hasn’t helped then there’s another thing we can do that is tied specifically to the bluetooth service. not many people know that bluetooth is controlled by a system application that can be found installed on the smartphone.

settings – apps – see all – show system – bluetooth

so from here we can force stop the pixel 6 bluetooth service, and then go into the storage section and delete/wipe the data that is being used by the application. now restart your phone and pair the phone to bluetooth again

– experimental developer mode dabeldorsh

one of the last things that I can recommend to fix bluetooth bugs is to try out this experimental developer option feature. because even google knows the bluetooth stack on Android is a mess. so they have a team that has been working on a new service to handle your bluetooth devices. but again, this is experimental so it needs to be enabled from the secret developer options menu.

if you haven’t enabled this menu yet, be sure to check the video description below since I will link to a previous tutorial I have done about the topic

there are also a number of bluetooth settings here that you can tinker around with to see if it improves compatibility with your bluetooth devices. just make note of what these options are set to by default in case you want to revert them back to their default values.

and again, go ahead and reboot your smartphone after making these changes so that Android can have a fresh start when trying to connect to another pair of bluetooth earbuds.

– factory reset the phone

  1. Reset my Bluetooth settings and once again, i can unlock my Chromebook by unlocking my Pixel 6. Yes! It's a pain when the Chromebook can't find the Pixel that's sitting beside it. I stopped using the Fire stick remote app because it constantly couldn't find the Pixel 6 when it was in the same room. I may have to try it again. Thanks for the helpful video!

  2. Fixed on my pixel 6a by resetting Bluetooth settings after spending a few hours to fix this before to find this very very helpful video…
    Thanks a lot!!! ❤

  3. Thank you. A simple reboot was all that was needed to get my Pixel 6 to resume automatically reconnecting with the wireless Android Auto function of the Accord head unit.

  4. When i spend the best part of a thousand bucks on a phone, i'm not looking for brain damage, i'm looking for it to work as it should. Mine is going back.

  5. Holy shit, just call the video "how to do a full factory data reset".

I thought you had Useful tips and not "did you unplug it and plug it back in ?" Ideas.

Jesus, these are the FIRST things you do, they aren't helpful tips.

  6. On my Pixel 6 Pro, there is no "Force Stop" option for the Bluetooth system app…. 🙁 My issue is that my new YH-E700A headphones apparently require a PIN (0000) but the phone won't ask for it… just says Invalid PIN.

  7. None of these work or are available to me. Does anyone know what exactly is happening? Someone was saying the Google pixel 6 pro doesn't support older devices or something. I'm just not sure what's happening and why

  8. please listen from me. Go buy a Samsung. I know. I know my first thought was to buy a Samsung but I watched so many YouTube videos about this pixel pro 6 pro and I was finally convinced to buy it. worst mistake of my life. do not buy the Pixel 6 pro. do not buy any pictures. Google makes s*** s*** s*** phones don't buy s*** from Google. Go get a regular Samsung phone. even a Samsung 6. is better than a pixel pro. 6. It's crazy Pixel this pixel phones. they are so bad. I wish I could get my money back from Google

  9. rebooting the phone every single time. resetting the phone every single time just to connect to Bluetooth. stupid stupid they should. there should be a class action lawsuit against Google because I know for sure I'm going to join it. this phone calls me a lot of money. they need to give me back my money

  10. This didn't help but got me on the right track. With the pixel 6 on the latest firmware and new airpod pro 2s, disabling A2DP hardware offload in the developer options fixed it.

Without doing that it would just disconnect after like 15 seconds of audio.

  11. Thanks for this helpful video. I reset my Bluetooth settings, but the problems persisted. I've trued to delete the cached app data for Bluetooth, as suggested, but there is no option to force stop the app and the options to clear cache and clear storage are greyed out. What next?

  12. Hello,
Just after android 13 stable I notice a issue with a voice call (no audio), but this is just when I using Bluetooth headset, I tried with 4 different headset including pixel buds pro with same result, but if disconnect the headset or switch the the phone call audio to phone speaker, it work, the phone call come back. It important to be clear I am able to listen to listen music, watch videos, notification even use Google assistant and everything work as I expected, this issue Is focus specifically on phone call whit audio through Bluetooth. Any suggestion?? Thanks.
