A lot of interesting products, concepts, and technology were showcased at this year’s computex 2023, however I would be lying if I said that this year’s show was the most exciting. At least that’s how I found it personally. In fact, I thought apart from a few products there wasn’t much to get really thrilled about. Since major players in the semi-conductor industry like Intel, AMD, and Nvidia didn’t share a lot at this year’s event. Did AMD even have a booth at computex this year? Nvidia did open the event with their keynote however their focus was clearly on AI, AI, and AI. Gaming was just glossed over and I wasn’t surprised by that, I stated multiple times in the past that right now their focus is the datacenter and HPC. However, some key takeaways from the event alluded to Nvidia perhaps using Intel’s fabs for their next gen GPUs. Along with that there were some cool GPU models I wanted to talk about and modded RTX 3070s (definitely not approved by Nvidia) hitting the market.

  1. Why possibility Intel would make gpus for Nvidia doesn't surprise me?

There was earlier leak about Jensen asking Intel during crypto boom if they would let Nvidia use their production capacity and that was still on old nodes(14/10nm) long ago.

It was before Intel made it lobbying thievery into US tax payers pockets, getting some 20bil USD stimulus to build fabs for new nodes, which Intel decided around 20times before it, that he won't need it, rather payouts its share holders.

Now this making Nvidia gpus in "Intel" fabs seems to me like "your enemy is my enemy too, so we are friends" strategy, to beat AMD.
While Intel underdog in gpu market, with their delays and not good pricing until quite late ( A7500 above 6650xt price, A770 is almost 3070 level, pricier than 6700xt, Intel bundled with Nvidia in Japan), Intel ignores AMD prices. Isn't it familiar?

I suspect Intel just kill his gpus to leave Nvidia in desktop maybe for not making cpu má by Nvidia, there is ton of possibilities how to slice battleground of gpu market with Battlemage.
Alchemist delays and unwilling pricing already made some point.

But I almost missed my main point:
Nvidia having 2 options of production can probably hold on monolithic design if needed and viable but mainly get cheaper silicon and make pressure on both suppliers!
It seems like AMD has long term partnership with TSMC, it will get them hopefully same prices.

  2. I think Nvidia is only dropping hints to TSMC – don't charge me too much, I could pick another foundry, you know? To have Intel fab your GPU is to hand over ALL of your GPU blueprints – uh…to your competitor? One that you spent billions in R&D? Intel has made no secrets that they're all in on the GPU – it's not really an option for them at this point it's Do or Die for Intel, ARE YOU REALLY going to hand over your most powerful & efficient GPU architectures to your future competitor?? Intel engineers are smart people, sometimes you only need a little "hints" to improve your product by a lot – not stealing – but ideas that your didn't think about it before. When Intel was only a CPU company, this wasn't a problem.

  3. Can't stand GPU AIO "solutions" because they will invariably break down. Sure, if you replace every gen or two they should be fine but for the rest of us no. Now, if they would do that and pull the pump out so we could just attach our own custom loop. They do permeate over time as well.
