Google’s next-generation Pixel Watch upgrade highlights revealed? Foreign media “9to5google” reported that Google is expected to speed up users’ unlocking of Pixel phones through the new Pixel Watch.
Digging into the code revealed that Google is adding a new description to the “smart watch unlock” function, which mentions enabling an “ultra-wideband” (UWB) chip. Since the first and second generations of Pixel Watch currently do not have built-in ultra-wideband, foreign media speculated that this will be one of the main upgrades of Pixel Watch 3. Currently, Apple Watch also has built-in ultra-wideband chip.
The “smart watch unlock” function currently used by Pixel Watch will use Bluetooth to detect mobile phones with the same account around you and keep them unlocked, eliminating the need to use fingerprint recognition or password unlocking. The latest code leaked from Google points out , does not use ultra-wideband but maintains the original Bluetooth, which may encounter slight delays and lower accuracy, suggesting that the new Pixel Watch will bring a smoother unlocking experience.
Recently, “9to5google” also broke the news that Google will launch two versions of Pixel Watch 3 for the first time this year. In addition to the original 41mm, a 45mm large diameter model will be added.
