WLTP with those rims is 430km
Just ordered the RWD Model Y in the US. Looking forward to it. This is to be wifey’s car, I drive a MB EQB 350 and have averaged 20.3 KWh per 100 km.
Did this MY RWD have the LFP Battery pack?
Hi Bjorn, what would you recommend: MYLR with standard rims in white of MYSR with 20” and quicksilver. I currently drive 2019 M3LR 18” blue. I love the quicksilver with the turbine wheels, but range is also key for electric cars…
How is parking with the new model y in cities? As I understand the sensors are gone, the vision does not really work well, and there is no front camera. And how are the safety features? Does it have rear cross traffic alert and these things? They help a lot in busy carparks and stores where I am from
I am driving Model Y RWD with 20", 9 months, 20°~36° climate, city drive, 24,000km, 150wh/km, just for reference.
Nice Scenery in Thailand !
Just ordered my MY RWD and I can’t wait. Previously had BMW i3’s and now a Volvo XC40 BEV, but it’s time to move away from legacy auto 😅
Nice but i don’t like Tesla @ especially i don’t like Elon Musk.
The only car have less range in Sunday driving then wltp are Tesla and Hongqi.
That mean Tesla wltp is not realistic, that's not a little point.
Many cars have 15 to 20% more range in Sunday driving as wltp.
I think that's one of the more interesting type of test you do.
The real range versus wltp.
Hei BJØRN, I ordered a polestar 2 because of the amazing deal they are having in Norway at the moment BUT I always dream of a model y. You have driven both extensively, should I pay up and just get the model y? Or is the polestar 2 a better deal (for the price?) thank you
Hi. I have recieved my model Y SR. I do all my trips in the city and it appears that I have a 160 consumption. This is great but I don t seem to make more than 200km in the city. I checked the consumption on climate control is not above 1%. Cabin overheat is turned off. Sentry mode is activated for short periods only when I need it. My question now is: Why I have so low milage on one charge? I calculated with my consumption at least 300km but I manage to make a little over 200. I am not an aggressive driver my car is only in Chill mode but I am not driving with one pedal. I use the Roll feature. Do you guys have any ideea? Thanks
Looking forward to the cold weather testing of this LFP RWD model Y
maybe the best but so boring….
WLTP with 20' isn't 455km!
@bjornnyland Great videos as always! Is the phantom breaking on the 2023 Model Y still an issue?
Can i ask some european owners about the quality of the EU teslas? I ma from Bulgaria and we still do not have Tesla in Bulgaria so i am was thinking about buying the Model Y. But what is stopping me is the low quality of teslas in the past.
ABB = always be bigger 🙂
ABC = always park in the shade 🙂
how the heck a petrolhead like myself spends all the time to see your videos and get stuck on EV thing .. i really cant explain!!! my first ever video was the e BUZZZZZ … !!! keep up
Your link says you have made 1182 referrals – is that in this new programme or is it total with the referrals you made in the past year?:) I need one more to have a free road trip through Europe this summer 🙂
Have you tested noise levels on the 2023 Model Y? It would be interesting to compare 19”, 20” and 21” original tires.
Any insight to how Autopilot/AutoSteering/FSD is impacting power consumption/range? (sensors and computational power). I "think" I've noticed a minor increase in power consumption with AutoSteering ON in my MDY RWD in Denmark – any measurements or thoughts? Thanks!
7:31 Totally agree with you, I really miss this feature.
Best car money can buy!
Thanks. Great review as usual.
The reason the model y performance had the same consumption was probably because it was on 18 inch rims. And in Thailand I think the asfalt is smoother too which also decreases consumption. I've noticed similar stuff when driving in the south of Europe. Already in Denmark the asfalt is smoother.
You mention so many good things you get with that Tesla, but you didn’t mention anything about the rubbish Vision system. IMHO.
Just bought one yesterday. Same spec as yours, except with a white interior. Loving it to bits.
Bjorn, please test the car on stock 19's. Picking the 20" rims very much ruined the chance to compare really. The LR was on 19's, the BYD should probably best be on 19's as well. Hardly anyone picks 20" for the RWD as these significantly affect range.
Does the trailer hitch have any effect on consumption ?
minimum 10% for the 20"… higher speeds even more….
,
As usual great video. What I'm wondering about is the comparison with the Model 3 60 kWh (line above your spreadsheet), in theory they have the same battery capacity but yet you only got 54.0 kWh out of the model 3 versus 57.4. Both are basically new I believe. If the model 3 had made 57.4 available it would have gone 480km (which is a lot closer to the WLTP 491). I'm wondering if it was a software calibration thing, different battery management algorithm or if, in fact, the batteries are not the same.
19" MY RWD in nz gets hancook tyres and over 10k km it's averaging 152wh/km for us so that 127kw/km looks pretty good to me lol
