A full installation video showing how I have successfully retrofitted and installed Apple CarPlay in to my Jaguar F Type coupe. I have installed the Apple CarPlay unit supplied by Unique Auto Developments which I would highly recommend.
The Apple CarPlay unit has transformed the infotainment system in my Jaguar F Type and brought it right up to date.
It is incredible to be able to utilise the sat nav systems through the various apps such as Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps. Plus I have access to my Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music for streaming or accessing locally stored music from my phone. I can now listen to podcasts and I now even listen to my local radio station from anywhere in the country using Radioplayer or Tune In applications.
The great thing about this installation is that I am also fully legal, as I am not having to stop the car when I need to adjust the sat nav or adjust my music or podcasts etc, as this is all controllable through the Apple CarPlay unit

When using the carplay navigation, do directions still come through on the heads up display on centre dial?

I also have an F-Type with Harman head unit, and since I have installed the unit supplied by Unique Auto Developments, my tire pressure sensors no longer work, have you had the same problem?
I guess it's because of the interference, do you have a picture of the switch settings? please.
I'm so confused. I'm looking at F-Types right now and all I see is Meridian Sound Systems installed. What do you mean Bosch or Harman head Units ??? do they manufacture the Meridian Sound Systems ??

Hi, thanks for the video this has been useful. I have everything plugged in apart from the main black cable – did you have any problems plugging it back into the head unit? I cannot for the life of me get the damn thing in and I don’t want to use too much force. Checked with Unique and it is the right one…
Hello , sorry for chasing you again, I have a rear camera in my Jag. Does the carplay automatically disconnect/ switch to reverse camera screen? I see some extra cables in the adapter cable plug loop of the carplay unit. I think they are for an extra reverse camera if not installed yet , Right ? Thx again for coming back.. rgds Achim
