Just this Wednesday, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published two new patents for under-screen fingerprints on Apple. The first item is related to capturing 2D/3D fingerprint images, and the second item is to introduce the temperature compensation algorithm in the optical fingerprint detection system.
In fact, the well-known analyst Guo Mingchi had previously predicted that the iPhone with optical screen fingerprints is expected to meet you in 2021, and Apple is also developing ultrasonic solutions.
Although the iPhone 12 is missed, the iPhone 12s/13 or iPhone SE 3 can be expected to be launched with optical screen fingerprints. Especially for the iPhone SE 3, removing the physical Touch ID will increase the effective screen area.
