you talk about the boring update on the cheese-grater macPro with the same external design and updating the guts from intel to M2 apple silicon — isnt this exactly what they did with the macPro when they went from the powerPC G5 to the intel macPro that everyone loved for so long (people are still slip-streaming that thing with ventura using dr.dos) — everything old is new again. 🍃

Do people really like 15” laptops over 13” laptops? The whole point is ultra portability for me so 13” is much much better.

The Mac book air does not conform to these new market conditions which will be adopted by many other countries .
on the subject of buying the older m1 air or not, I have it and having seen both screens and felt the processing power of both, the M2 just feels too expensive for the few uogrades you get, especially sinc eht air isnt meant to be a powerhouse computer anyway. Also the cheese wedge design is far superior to the M2 design because I like cheese.

M1 for $799?
Completely wrong about the M1. The dumb notch is not worth an additional $100. The classic 13 inch is the perfect size, weight and body style.

I think they are working on some interlinking between ultra chips too, they will have 1/2 or maybe 4 compute units (APU + RAM + cooling) socketing somehow on motherboard, maybe one on each of sides of motherboard, to have the shortest link between them. This gen of Mac Pro is just to end intel journey.

New Mac Pro is BS and the line has been for at least 10 years now. The trash can mac was trash. Sorry. Even if you have an enterprise for any moving image arts and audio I would never recommended buying Mac Pro.
Actually, the "Trash Can" Mac Pro could have been a great design for Apple Silicon – based Mac Pro.
15” MacBook Air is just to get rid of the m2 inventory they have. Bigger screen is good though but bigger and heavier
10:41 I wonder how the cycle for external hardware redesigns will be with each update to Apple Silicon. Especially because Macs didn’t get ‘S’ years. The 24” iMac was introduced with the M1 chip. M1 Pro and M1 Max introduced the new 14” and 16” MBP designs. We got the new Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra introduction. M2 brought the redesigned 13” MBA and a new 15” MBA. I suspect a new Mac Mini come M3.
Macbook Air is for lot of business people, students, teachers and all. Everyone has to have a presentation and when they want to connect a Projector or TV or anything you have to buy a annoying dongle. Man Apple sucks. They want the whole world to change for them. For God's sake the Arrogance.

if they had added at least just one more port (ideally 2 more), this would have been the best laptop ever. But only 2 ports are too few! When doing deep work at the office or at home, one port is always connected to the AC plug, and the other port will be connected to your external monitor (e.g.: 27-inch Apple Studio display). Meaning when you need to connect just any other gadgets, such as a mic, camera, audio i/o, professional speakers, or even a memory card reader, etc, there is no place to connect any of them! which is a huge disappointment and inconvenience. 🙁
BUT i hope they don't touch the server rack design on the mac pro.
