Idiots saying patina when describing rust and wear on a vehicle is wildly stupid. By that logic my Honda accord I used to own had a crazy patina after 20 years and looks amazing lol
I noticed something in this talk that really bothers me. They're talking of a car the same way one would talk about the latest iPhone which will be good for only a year or so until the updated version comes out
The biggest ev? are you sure about that? would that not be the Hummer ev?
So the divid between is the cyber truck an overpriced vanity project or a revolution in engineering seems to come down to if you're a Elon musk fan boy or not….
So, here is the skinny.
Your $100,000 truck is going to rust and stain.
So, you can pay to have it wrapped or you can pay another $5000 to have it factory clear coated.
Or, you can buy another vehicle that is less expensing and won't rust.
Rust means higher iron content in the formula and in the end a lesser quality stainless steel. Put some surgical stainless outside and see what happens. Nothing. Thats what.
I don't think that guy knows what bespoke means
The thing is you don’t usually have rain, stones and bird poo on your fridge so it’s hard to know how the material works in the wild until now. This idea of needing to wrap your car seems to be a new thing to me never heard of any normal cars coming in a skin so unsuitable for its purpose that you needed to add your own skin
Why don't Tesla trucks have a clearcoat, like every car with a paint job? Also, if you get a wrap, and then a rock or something cuts through it, you have a concentrated rust spot every time it gets wet for the foreseeable future.
You should absolutly not wrap it, then it will start pitting corrosion like crazy
It’s an idiotic vehicle. Basically a teenage boy video game design. First Tesla was supposed to be the more environmental choice. Well, despite that questionable claim, Musk went and made a bigger, heavier vehicle, that negates any advantage of it being electrical. He also allowed the back to block rear viewing, with large blind spots, and a very dangerous design that will be a menace in an accident. It is expensive and difficult to manufacture. He did all this, why?? For some teenage boy meme move? The same thing with Twitter. He vastly overpaid for that and proceeded to destroy the brand and its functionality. It’s now a cesspool of spam and bots. The same thing with SpaceX designs to build an upright landing rocket. Which will not work on the moon or Mars. It’s a childlike design that makes the whole process of space travel wayyyyy harder and more expensive than it should be. Musk never grew up, and it shows.
white is the least maintenance!
Can I have my 6:05 minutes of my life back?
StainLESS not StainFREE
There are ceramic coatings designed for wheels and stainless exhaust. I don't see why they wouldn't work if willing to coat it or have it down once every year or two.
Turns out it's not actually resting
Makes me laugh.. if you buy a normal car and get rust yoy go back to the dealer, but tgis is a tesla 😂also once you have rust rhen the metal os becoming comprimised
Musk can't build a car to save his life
There's no such thing as a "patina" of rust. If you have rust in Stainless Steel it means at the micro-level the rust is eating away at the metal.
I don't know how Tesla's going to fix this. Cleaning off the rust from the stainless steel, caused by iron or any other corrosive penetrating the none protected surface, using a scouring pad and not applying something to protect the area will just make that area more susceptible to rusting in the future. As others have stated, wrapping the truck alone won't help, either. If any air or water gets under the wrap, it will still cause the stainless steel to rust. Maybe they can apply an anti-corrosive compound to the steel before wrapping the truck? Similar to applying WD-40 to your iron and stainless steel tools after cleaning them? Of course, the compound can't prevent the wrap from going on. Or maybe they can use the cathodic protection? However, there may be some safety factors to take into consideration based on the amount of charge needed.
Look at all the haters who can’t afford a Tesla. Lol.
I wonder if there's a technology used to deal with this … oh, paint!
Look at the spots like Christmas lights.
The likelihood that many of these stories are a lie is extremely high.
Appreciate that Shout-out at the end and RESPECT TO YOUR WORDS , MY Condolences to his family 🙏🏼🙏🏼 1:01:16

My car for 26years is Soo close! Got ripped off Alot… And Not sure if I'll get my money back…88 10th anniversary RX-7 1of1500 ** 🙏🏼🙏🏼
theres literally material scientists in tesla
thats alot of unsure
wrap it won't solve the problem.
Even I, a guy who knows very little about cars, can tell that these guys know nothing about cars and only care about the pristine tech-ness of it all including Marques Brownlee who even reviews cars. They need to stop simping for Tesla.
Great Video Than you 🤩🥰💪🫶😁😎👌🥸🤓🥳🫡
Leave it Marques and company to once again prove they know nothing about anything but consumer electronics.. Rust can still form with a wrap.. Stick to personal electronics – the level of ignorance and trying to pretend like you know what you're talking about is pure ignorance.
Valet parking is quite an American thing. Germans would not give their keys to strangers.
Just confirming what a piece of junk it is
Cheap manufacturing practices.. cheap steal.. tesla hype
All car paint is susceptible to this. Most paint has surface (rail) dust on it but you can’t see it because the paint color hides it. White shows the rust, look closely at a white car and you’ll see.
Dumbos here not understanding that stainless steel is literally iron carbide alloyed with chrome….bruh it’s gonna rust but it’ll take 50 years or so
I pull up to the ritz in my 2008 highlander on the reg 😂
Tesla cars are trash
REAL stainless does NOT rust.
DEVILS!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Stop with your ignorant opinion I have been using stainless kitchen dishes for over 50 years, and they don't deform, or create rust.
If there is time you better retract your information, or else don't be taken to court for false information mongering.
Well not all stainless steel is equal. DeLorean used good steel with a highend sealant. Tesla, well cut every corner like normal.
This car looks like a middle school kid got really inspired
by a Pontiac Aztec (remember that failure)?
Looks amateurish and based on juvenile fantasy.
Best way to keep CyberMusk from rusting is put it in an oxygen- less environment. Launch it into space and have it orbit Mars Like the little MuskRat did with his model whY!
Better idea is don't buy anything a fascist is selling because why give money to a fascist?
So a cheap kitchen knife in Stainless Steel is more rust resistant than the Cyber Truck. 🤣
Cyber Truck turns into a Rat Rod; Organically 🌚
