How many people know that there is Pro M3 and Pro M3 Pro?
I just bought an Macbook Air M1 for $700.00 at Walmart I know it's a 8gb of ram but for me it's a must buy for travel and doing simple stuff… Crypto trading, emails, writing and for me the M1 the looks are nice! Its just perfect!

I have 8GB RAM m1 MacBook Air, still performs great and battery still lasts long. My only regret is the 16GB RAM upgrade
The M1 MacBook Air is a good deal but you miss out the display, speakers, webcam, new design. That's why I would recommend the M2 Air instead, it is just a more modern laptop and you can find good deals of it out there as well
I think the 720p webcam isn't a big deal due the fact we can our iPhone camera as a webcam while we use the MacBook. We can even use the iPhone's mic👌
What about the updates from the M1?
The M1 is a beast. I just hope that Apple doesn't make it slower with updates to force the purchase of a higher model, that would be a big mistake

Absolutely love my 3 year old 16gb M1 Air. With the thermal pad mod it's a little performance beast. Also prefer the M1 design, sleaker and more elegant then the newer, boxier design with that ungainly notch.

I video edit with my M1 and it is very efficient without lag. It is a great laptop!
Yeah, just going to see how long this M1 air is going to last. Having zero problems in fcpx and 4k editing, but the new photoshop beta thing is sucking all 16gb of ram. But that is a Ps problem, not a m1 problem. Im thinking at least 2-3 years more on the m1 before moving on. Nice machine.
basically get the M3 pro or max in the pro or just go ahead and get an air

Apple Silicon is an amazing chip. While it’s awesome to see the chip get faster with each generation the M1 Air already had so much performance for most users.
I will say I also prefer the fan less design of the Air. Yes it can slow down under heavy loads because of it but I hate laptop noise. We had M1 MBA’s at work for app development and we were lol just upgraded to the M1 MBP and I miss the MBA for that reason. It builds apps a bit faster now but in terms of comfort it’s kind of a downgrade.

Love the M1 Air, was doing most of my programming on that machine and it just worked fine, only recently I'm lacking speed and decided to a computer that hits better benchmarks for programming as well
Apple Set the bar very high with the M1
I absolutely agree with your assessment. However, knowing Apple's history, if the M1 isn't obsolete, Apple will make it obsolete at some point stopping to release newer software for it. So, it's equivalent, it's cheaper, but you'll get less years of use out of it.

8gb ram for a 1600 computer 8s ridiculous. It should be 32+ at this price. Even cellphones have 12+ gigs
I still have my maxed out M1 Macbook Pro from 2020 and it’s great but I have needed more screen real estate and more ram. Just can’t upgrade yet.
