1. I’m fine if my tablet pro wants to be a Mac slap a zag keyboard a Magic Keyboard. If you want to game let’s face it . Just get a PC Preferably a Lenovo, or Asus

2. So I'm still rocking the early 2015 intel MacBook Pro 8GB DDR3 and wanted to upgrade but I heard that the M2 Pro is better than M3 Pro. Should I get a refurbished M2 Pro or a new M3 Pro?

Been a little over a week with my 14inch space black m3 pro 12-12-18 + 1tb ssd and i am loving it. best part is, its a best buy open box unit with a verified description that the person who returned it with the 15 day window, did so in 3 days and bro used it for only 2 of those days via battery cycle…allowing me to buy it for $1915 or $2048 OTD. no scratches, no dents, no dust along with all the original items that come in the box. also, i get to put my 2019 dell xps 13 to rest.

5. I feel the same way about my PC. It does what I need it to do, nice and fast, and the new hardware doesn't offer that much of an improvement for the price. Wouldn't mind though if you made that 3 year on an M1 Max video.

6. Mine 2019 13” Pro (touch bar). Should I upgrade? Mine doesn’t feel slow at all. I am using for Adobe Illustrator only.

8. honestly for youtube video editing you can just get an ipad with m chip. High end computer like this can edit animation and render actual real time cinematic level graphics with ray tracing.

9. The unfortunate downside is of course all the battery time lost. Which is such a shame.

10. My M1 Pro logic board died after two years of use. Very disappointed my 2018 MacBook Pro outlasted it. The cost of replacement of logic board is about 28% the value of a similar model. Pulled the trigger on the m3 max model.

11. Apple silicon chips are so good that upgrading isnt even worth it because you won't notice a big difference in the daily use, pretty impressive not gonna lie. I wonder how apple will take this since the apps arent keeping up with the power apple silicon chips can offer. (Speaking of laptops)

My kid needed a better laptop for her video production class, I needed a business write down, so I got the M3MAX and gave her my M1MAX MacBookPro, It's really working out, I agree tho, for my daily editing, there aren't that much in the way of speed and performance, the M1MAX is just that good still, she was using grandma's old intel MBP that she got about 7 years ago, I also got her to get an M1MAX MBP and she is tickled to get a working system that doesn't hang. She still has a few issues but those aren't system related issues. But I digress, the M3MAX is a real powerful system, and I am really enjoying it. The startup of this thing is super fast as well, and I have a LOT of apps that run in the background.

14. I purchased this exact Mac 1 month ago at 3,999$ the configurations I have is 16inch 48gb ram 1Tb ssd 40C GPU. It works so great I love it I don't struggle anymore like I used to with graphic design or editing videos for clients I look at it as an investment. Btw I switched from windows to apple the mac encourages me to work more.

16. But these are good news. I mean: you shouldn't replace a laptop in 3 years, it's a waste and if you need to, it was a bad computer. Most people I know replaces Macbooks every 7 to 9 years. I recently bought a M2 Pro coming from a 2014MBP and man, there is a massive, astonishing upgrade. (I just won't compare it to the Dell XPS that my company gave me for work as it destroys it on every single possible way).

23. If you were buying a net new laptop, would you go for it? Obviously the question of whether to upgrade is different than if you don’t have a personal laptop at all.

24. My wife just bought my first MacBook ever and went with this Pro 16” with M3. I had been using windows laptops since before Windows XP. Still trying to figure out how to use this thing and get the best out of all the money she shelled out for it.

29. Good for you canceling that. I am about to buy one, having had the M1 but sold it a while ago. Now I'm not sure if I care to get maxed out specs. That +$200 jump per any upgrade is getting so fucking old.

34. im not a expert in video editing or music production but I do a little. I have this 16" m3 max 40GPU 48gb ram for a while now and it's great. exporting 4k files is very quick I feel. I am debating I should have gone for lower spec as I feel I don't need m3 max chip or the 40GPU. I don't make 4k Hollywood movies lol but now im thinking of trying gaming on it and looking at geforce now. im finding it crap to start with with geforce as the servers are full or something. I don't want to pay for it either.

37. I have an M1 Pro, and it's such a blast of a computer. I use my computer for heavy workloads, and I still think I ,won't update it for anguess Appleyears unless Apple brings back the behemoth 17-inch or makes a 20-inch.

47. Been using a m2 mac mini beside a Ryzen 7950x with 4090. Its been a chore to work within 16GB but im holding off for a m3 max studio.
