How to speed up post times on Ryzen 7000 and enable Eco mode

How to enable Eco mode in the bios for AM5 motherboards. I’ll also cover how to improve the post and boot times on Ryzen 7000 series processors by enabling a specific setting in the bios.

  1. Instantly bricked my brand new machine. I wish I’d read the comments before I Did all of this.. immediately got Dram Light. I cannot boot. Not sure what I’m gonna do now. 😢 Aorus b650elite ax

  2. Found out the 7800x3d chip oc'ing it has no effect. (Maybe to all 3d chips).
It already is tight out of the box sort of speaking.
*Probably why/part of the reason, it is the best gaming CPU on Earth right now.

  3. OMG I havet eh same motherboard as you and I h8t3 it.
I spent a week or two just trying to flash the bios and get it to recognize my memory and post.
When I finally did, this is the first thing I did, but when I hit save and reboot, it will never come back…. I have to clear CMOS ever single time and do a cold boot if I want to get any video at all and to a BIOS screen. I know it takes minutes to boot but this is ludicrous, and there is no feedback… you have no idea if it never will boot, or just give it 5 more minutes….

And this is still on the bench. Not inside a case. Not even booted to an OS yet. $2,000 worth of parts that's still useless.
Let me tell you, myloathing for Gigglebyte right now is at an all time high…

All I can tell you, is if you put in those 2 second sticks of RAM (4 instead of just 2) you enter all kinds of non-booting h377.

  4. I having bios boot time troubles in addition to my monitor falling asleep at said boot up.
I'm starting to think that giving AMD parts a go was not a good idea. 😢

  5. Great info! Unfortunately, "Memory Context Restore = Enabled" for me means BIOS freezes when trying to F10/Save, and then subsequent cold boots fail with boot loops. (I am using "EXPO II" Memory Profile and ECO mode on the CPU). Maybe it will work with a future BIOS. Until then, my cold boot time from pressing power button to Win 11 desktop = 52 seconds.
    Specs:
    – Asus ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard on BIOS 1004
    – G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
    – AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor

  6. My Specs are AMD 7950x Motherboard Gigabyte X6070e Extreme. And im having this issue Restrain memory. After watching from your Video guide is a Big help from me. Before my PC it really takes a long time to post. But now my problem is solved. Thank You!❤

  7. Would enjoy seeing something about Aorus X670 boards (like the Xtreme and Ultra, etc) and BIOS settings. Overclocking would be good. DDR5 memory config also for XMP I (the Trident Z5 6600 stuff I got will not behave with latest BIOS….pretty sure it was working before I sent the board back on RMA).

  8. problem with my 7600x and the memory context restore is that it makes the system unstable, firefox crashes even had a blue screen once, with it disabled that never happens. my ram EXPO is rated for 6000mhz 30cl but maybe thats to much without the training.. gona try a lower clock on the mem and see if that helps but it would suck anyway. and 50 seconds to desktop sucks aswell

  9. I have experience this on my x6070e auros extreme motherboard take so longs to post. Cool i will try your settings when i get home. And i will add some updates

  10. Don’t do this, I was wondering why my games were suddenly crashing after 1-20 seconds, then I turned this setting back to Auto, and crashing went away; it may cause system instability.

  11. I have the gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax and idk why but my cpu fans won’t stop ramping up and down even when I fix the fan curve speed in bios it’s been super annoying only way I can control them is with a 3party fan control on windows any idea or solutions you might have ?

  12. With my asus b650e-f board, updating the bios helped with the post time, but the memory context restore enabled was giving me blue screens after a few boots.

  13. Appreciate the tip on making boot times faster, will have to try it out later!

105w Eco mode on the 7950x is a monster by itself. Testing mine with a -0.1v undervolt and it consumes a tad less when gaming and doing casual things. Doesn't go beyond 68c at 21c ambient with the ak620 (never goes above 80c when rendering on Resolve). I've noticed that Cinebench always runs cooler with ryzen cpus for some reason, haven't really looked into it much lol

  14. Checked your settings on Asus tuf x670e with 7950x and z73 kraken 360 aio and still 95 degs. :/ cpu Takes 180w so im guessing something is not working

  15. Sadly on my X670E Taichi I had Memory Context Restore Enabled by default and it doesn't help. (Auto and Disabled were options). ASRock just released a new BIOS yesterday but that also had no effect. I'm sure it'll come…

  16. Cinebench doesn't give crap about memory performance (that is unless it's something unreasonably bad), neither does blender or corona or other and generally most productivity workloads. Almost the only thing that gives crap about memory – are all sorts of number crunching based software from my experience.
