Tesla Model X Refresh – Introducing our Newest Member of the Family!!

Its crazy to think that we now have a Tesla Model X. Even crazier is that it is a brand new refresh 2023 Model X. The best part? We got a great deal on this inventory car.

This time around, I wanted to match some of the best looking Tesla Model Y’s and Model X’s I have seen on the road. Blackout is the look we are going for and the refresh Model X gives the perfect platform from where to start.

We usually prefer to have white interior, and in this case it would have looked amazing, however, when going for a blackout look, black interior is the better choice on our Model X.

Although I wanted a 7 passenger Model X, we ultimately went with the 6 passenger, which was my wife’s preference. On a day to day basis, the 6 passenger is the more convenient option, however, you cannot fold down the second row, meaning you can’t get more cargo space or camp in the Model X.

Finally the wheels. I am not a fan of paying for the upgraded wheels on the Model Y, the Model 3, and certainly not the Model X. These upgraded 22″ wheels are a whopping $5,500 upgrade, and are nowhere near worth that kind of money over the factory 20″ wheels that come with the car. The only reason we have them is because this was an inventory car and the cost was removed to deliver the car.

So a quick introduction to our 2023 Refresh Tesla Model X Long Range, and a video to come highlighting the features and initial thoughts of the car. Be sure to subscribe to keep up to date on our content!

  1. I test drove 2 different 2023 Model X's today and noticed front suspension issues on both. Vibration and shaking coming from the steering wheel, and some noises from the front end. Seems odd for 2 "new" vehicles to have the same suspension issue. Have you experienced this?

  2. After buying two Teslas last year.. I think ev’s are a total scam. In hot weather they don’t get anywhere near their advertised range. In any weather I never saw them get anywhere near their advertised range. Don’t get fooled. And the build quality on a Tesla is embarrassing. Lots of creaks and rattles. Not worth it at all. Enjoy these videos but save your time and $$$ by buying a gas or hybrid vehicle instead

  3. Could use some help. Seeing a lot of newer used X's for sell. I need to be able to see what Tesla thinks it has…. a 60,000 isn't bad but if it has FSD, or even Advanced driving would make it so much better. How can I find out?

  4. I agree with you on getting rid of the falcon doors and middle screen but I would want the suspension(thats my deal breaker) I pray Elon does the above and I believe he will sell a ton.
    I have a 2023 model y and a 2022 model 3sr+.

  5. Hi. Love your candid reviews that I've been watching for several years now. I'm looking forward to getting a 2023 MX. My wife says the M3 got to go first, so I'll be prepping it for sale. Lots of upgrades. I almost bought a low mileage 2020 MX in December, but she figured out what I was up to and said No!
The recent price drop of the MX is very tempting. However, common sense will have to prevail. Enjoy your new ride.

  6. Ok, now you have me thinking. Lol! I love my Y and have the 7 seat configuration, thinking of my grandchildren. Now hearing about the suspension, and added room, along with the grandchildren getting older, 🤔 I might start looking at the X or the S. Of course with the S, not too worried about the grandchildren. I have 8 of them and if they are all here at the same time, we’d need 2 vehicles anyway.

  7. congrats ! however Tesla is producing some of the world’s most desirable electric cars, but it seems like Tesla has been too confident during the past few years,” Buzelis said. “Starting at around $100,000, the Model X is their only SUV. However, owners often complain about issues with paint, trim, hardware and power equipment. Also, the suspension, climate, electric and drive systems frequently fail. The 2022 model has been recalled 11 times.”

  8. Wives are all about the practicality. "What is this replacing". Yep, because you already have the Model Y she wants to know what benefit is it for the family.

On the other hand I find my Model Y to be perfect for me. The Model X is a little too much vehicle for my needs. It's just the two of us and our kids are grown and on their own. We live in Virginia and just drove up to Atlantic City and back and it is the perfect road trip vehicle for us.

My Model Y is a 2022 end of year, Austin build that still have the USS on it. The suspension in my opinion is good. But having owned a Lexus LS400 with air suspension I can thoroughly say I wish my my Y had that. Having cooled seats aren't bad but I don't need them. The car gets to the temperature I like and the seats are fine.

The screen in the back is awesome on the S and X but there are a few different aftermarket screens out there that look OEM. The falcon wing doors and that extra space in the X is awesome. I 6 fee 2 inches tall and I find it a tad tight to get in and out of my Y from the driver rear passenger side but it isn't bad. With some small adjustments it would be ok. The Model X doesn't really suffer from that.

Yeah, not a fan of the yoke. If the X and S were steer by wire it might make sense but that turning radius is horrible compared to a couple vehicles on the market that have a yoke and steer by wire.
