5. FYI – They are selling off ALL the Model Y AWD demo vehicles too… check out the listings. Must be because the 4680 batteries are being 2.0 and made for Cybertruck.

6. Hold on. Last week you were saying that there were too many battery factories being built in the US. Now you are saying that Tesla are stopping production of the Model Y RWD SR because there aren't enough batteries. Which one is it?

9. I gave one of my engineers a challenge which he has been working on for 3 months. I have a craft that uses a separated fan to generate lift. It is driven by a small Hydraulic motor of 16 to 20 Kw out put. It's energy is provided by a Variable displacement hydraulic pump. This is driven off the Main diesel engine which is 215 Kw. The system allows variable speed on the lift fan whilst the diesel engine is at fast idle 1100 RPM. I know the weight of all the components how can we install a 20 kw electric motor and power source to run it. The Hovercraft has 200 litres of fuel and has an 8 hour operating envelope. I look forward to your thoughts

16. I work as a trade compliance manager for imports. Almost everything imported from China carry’s a 25% tariff. Not only will you lose the tax credit but batteries will cost 25% more. I’ll check to see if the tariff includes batteries but almost everything does.

    with 4680's . Also I thought the Long Range Y was the most popular in the US. It will probably be back when Tesla get's it's 4680 situation sorted.

22. Where does he get his info from? It’s not the most popular. The LR is far more popular. Slightly more expensive but justit gives you far more range and much better charging. It far outsells the performance and the AWD. The AWD is cheapest but there’s not a single bit of evidence to suggest it’s the most popular

24. The Standard Range Y from Texas was the only Tesla with front and rear gigacastings and a structural battery pack. I snagged one in May, and I think it's Tesla's best car. Too bad they've discontinued it, but I doubt it will cost them sales in the short run. It will also simplify their logistics. At least on the US west coast, getting newly manufactured cars from Texas was complicated and costly.

28. The long range is the best selling Model Y by a mile. The standard range was finally put in this year because the 4680! battery is proven to mediocre and not the same as LFP counter part.

33. That battery contract is to facilitate Tesla Semi production, megawatt class batteries will require an enormous scales of production.. I also suspect Musk wants to create a commercial/fleet vehicle spinoff becouse this market has many difference form consumer EV market.. An organizational structure dedicated to serve this gigantic market it would be a better fit and allow Tesla to remain focused on its consumers..

    Organizational bloat "the Trap of trying to do everything" is a threat to successful companies and Musk likes to keep his companies as lean and mean as possible.

34. Two refreshes, CyberTruck ramp up, Semi, getting Model 2/Q ready for production, scaling up German factory, new factory in Mexico to break ground…quite a lot on the plate.

37. Nonsense, Sam. This has nothing to do with the CT. This is the quick move to Juniper that is obligatory now that the sister product, M3, has changed so many shared parts. So obvious!

39. 1:50 I highly doubt, that a cheap model will get good 4680, which are still not there in huge volume ^^

40. Makes sense to stop selling it on the web site, at least until they catch up with the existing orders. By that time the new version may be available with the current long range being designated as standard range, and the new version actually having a longer range than what is currently available. Or maybe they will do what Volkswagen did for decades, same car, same design, that's all the little people deserve. Or then there is the possibility that I may be afflicted with Cerebral Flatulism.

41. I think the Standard Range Y will return soon… but not as that exotic 4680 AWD that was only available in the US but more likely as a Y RWD with structural BYD LFP Pack like in germany or with non structural pack like the chinese Y RWD with CATL LFP Pack.
