Is This The Ultimate All In One Retro Emulation Console? Polymega First Look

I waited 2 years for this to ship and in this video, we are gonna see if the Polymega is the ultimate all-in-one retro emulation console. Let’s find out!
In this video, we unbox test out and teardown the all-new Polymega retro console.
They claim it can run PS1, Sega Genesis, NES, SNES Neo Geo Cd, and Sega Saturn using Orginal discs and carts with the Optional add-on modules but was it worth the wait? is it worth the price?

  1. $449 on their site, that’s the price of three small Dell Optiplex i5 systems from Craig’s list running my beloved Batocera Linux, playing everything up to GameCube, Wii and PS2. Tough sell.

  2. This system is joke for the price they asking for. I paid $120 for my super console x pro and it came with over 60000 games on it. Super console x pro would blow this system out the water.

  3. Took to long to finally get released and in that time retro game prices got ridiculous,so for me emulation is a more affordable option. I want it to do well, I hope to pick one up at a later date…but by then they too will be at ridiculous prices

  4. The CPU in this systen should have been removed and an AMD equivalent should be used instead. An AMD FX 4300 costs £69 or so and has 4 cores and 4 threads where as the G4900T is £175 and has 2 cores and 2 threads. The could use a much better and cheaper CPU equivalent and cut the cost of the whole lthing by £60 to £85 pounds for the deluxe edition with all the attachments. An idea like the Polymega and all the others before it are fantastic ideas but for most people who do not have collections of older systems pyhsical media will not see any use for this. Hell you could build a cheap PC for £200 to £400 and eumulate all the Systems in this instead for cheaper and better.

  5. Unfortunately, the device can't do what I've wanted for years.
    advanced graphics options.
The device is nothing more than a computer that emulates the games.
So why can't I set graphics options like with PC emulators like ePSXe?
That's what you should expect, especially for the price.
I really hoped that I could play my PS1 games in a nice high resolution and smoothly without any texture wobbling.
If I want it original I have the original consoles. So why should I buy this? So that I have everything on one system and don't always have to look for the module or CD? I also have a PC or raspberry pi that costs a fraction.
The device does not play the games from the module either, but reads them completely into the memory like the Retron.

  6. I would love to see a review of their light gun. If that works good. That alone has me sold. I just wish this thing wasn't 700 bucks… I am REALLY hoping for Dreamcast support and for added bonus, light gun support as well.

  7. The price is probably so high because they're being sold for profit. This is an infinitely smaller company than Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo that can't afford to offset per-unit losses with game sales, accessories, or online services. On top of that, a lot of effort was clearly put into developing the custom OS, not to mention the custom PCB and hardware layout.

For most of you in the comments section, have some sense before you start complaining about the pricetag.

  8. Honestly I think its worth the price. If you don't have an original console like a sega Saturn or CD they go for a couple of hundred especially in my area.

The idea with this console is to make all your physical retro games play on modern tvs with a better look.

Plus it feels like it's own console with that beautiful OS/UI. The changing out the Modulars to play different games is an interesting feature.

But yeah I'd personally use it. I'd have it hooked up with my Xbox series x, PS5 and Switch since my TV can only fit 4 hdmi ports. I can have the playability to enjoy my next gen games, and a new way to enjoy my older games. I'll still play my older games on their consoles on CRTVs, but Polymega is definitely gonna come in handy
