You Can Build An Awesome Emulation PC For Under $100!

You can build an awesome emulation PC for about the same price as a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB and it’s capable of playing everything the Pi can plus Sega Saturn, PSP, N64, Naomi, Atomiswave, even Gamecube and Wii using the dolphin emulator! In this video, I show you the PC and Video card I used for this and it cost me less than $100 USD. If you are interested in putting something like this together I have a full Batocera tutorial here:

  1. I got one from my old library with an i5-4570 for free. I upgraded to 8GB, controller, and a 1TB using used parts in my bin. I spent $60 for a RX550.

ChimeraOS, Runs even Shadow of Mordor at 60FPS high. Plus I can stream from my main PC.

  2. sic!!, i have a 1030 and a couple 4 g ddr 3 ram .. found an optiplex online for 120 as i tossed the last one out before finding out about retrobat and batocera. fun times!!

  3. Hello, does your PC and the graphics card in the video also work Playstation 3 games with the Batocera software?

The Playstation 3 games do not work on my PC with AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series graphics card and Batocera software.

However, my AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series doesn't support Vulkan API technology, do you know if you need to use Vulkan API to play games on Batocera Playstation 3 or is it possible without Vulkan API?

Would be Net if you could help me, because I can't find any information on what hardware you need exactly to be able to play Playstation 3 games on Batocera.

    Regards

  4. An important point to consider: Getting into retro gaming is expensive; buying one console in good condition can be pricey (an N64 is $100) plus a line doubler for another $60+. One can easily spend $200 just for one console and a few games. Or, do this and have many consoles and many games over HDMI natively!

  6. I was trying to find the best way to repurpose old parts from an old build and this is perfect. Thanks for the video. I just lucked out and picked up an open box 450W PSU and an open box GT 1030 (DDR4 sadly), for just over $100. Super excited to get it up and running

  7. I know this kind of defeats the purpose of a budget but if one wants to have the maximum power of that Dell omniplex they do have a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5 low profile out there as far as I know that's the most powerful GPU that you can cram into those small form factors

  8. ok question, im looking to fully emulate dreamcast, ps2, ps3, and ps1. maybe some windows games as well at max settings 60 fps no problems. what specs would i need? i don't want to overpay for a PC that's not doing what i need it to but i also don't wanna buy something that isn't gonna be able to handle my request either.

  9. I took this idea to more of the max and bought an Optiplex 3020 with an i5 4590, 8gb of ram, 120 SDD with win 10 Pro for $160 CAD. Then I bought a 6pin adapter and a 1060 3gb and tossed it in and this thing can play RE 2/3 1080 60fps high quality, and many others at high settings

  10. Golden eye impresses me to this day, not sure why just feels like they shrunk down a bulky sega virtua game from the arcades into a tiny box, still boggles my mind even though we have progressed well beyond that.
