4. Apple recently updated FCP to V 10.7. According to the update notes, "Export HEVC and H.264 files faster by simultaneously processing video segments across available media engines (requires macOS Sonoma or later and a Mac with Apple M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2 Max, M2 Ultra, or M3 Max)." I guess you will have to apply the latest Sonoma update and then the FCP update to run your FCP Export tests again. I would suspect that you would see the greatest improvement in the ULTRA chipsets, as they have more media engines than the MAX chipsets. It will be interesting to see what that improvement might be.

5. Max Studio's are a hard sell in my opinion, their needs to be a bigger performance difference between a MacBook Pro and Studio or why not just buy a MacBook Pro and use an external display.

6. But the base and pro m3 Mac’s are no faster than the Mac’s from 2018. So Apple has been kneecapping base models down to Chromebook’s performance status.

15. Looking toward Mac M3 Studio as my next upgrade from a 2017 27" Intel iMac so that leaves out a MacBook for screen size, not going smaller screen. No bigger iMac within reasonable future, 24" is out !!! What does Max Tech recommend as a non-Apple display ???

    I got my M3 Max MBP on Monday. The experience so far has been what I imagine what it must be like to have been deaf all your life and then your hearing starts working with no warning and you're listening to the most beautiful music ever composed.

    It's not just fast, it's mind-blowingly fast. It's not just quiet, it's silent most of the time (the fans are usually off. Not spinning slowly, but completely off). The battery life is literally like nothing I've ever experienced on a laptop.

    Why aren't all laptops like this thing? Yes, it was bloody expensive but damn!

20. Can we do some tests on older models like diamond based thermal paste on the M1 Pro base. I saw a good difference on my 2017 MacBook Pro doing this so I’m interested in the difference. I have one more year on my AppleCare before I do it myself.

    El M2 Max es similar al i9 12900H y el M3 Max es similar al i9 13950H.
    En cuestión de gráficos dentro de las laptops delgadas está a la par, el M3 Max GPU es similar a la RTX4070m. Sin embargo, si tomamos en cuenta las laptops más gruesas como las que incluyen la RTX4090m+13980HK y consumen 300Watts en total, queda bastante rezagada la Macbook.

24. I’m noticing it every time, and someday you should fix percent arithmetics anyway: 15s vs 20s is not 33% faster, it is 25% faster. However, 20s vs 15s is indeed 33% slower. So you should either flip numbers or describe it properly 😀

25. There’s new technology support such as mesh shading and raytracing with specific hardware for it so it’s well worth it

26. Is the M3 max noiser than the m1 max? Also, do the fans kick in earlier or are they like for like?
