  1. It's a bit confusing with the amenities offered at some of the new charging areas because staying too long gets you an extra charge and texts to move your vehicle out of the stall so others can charge?? Seems counter to the goal of faster charges.

  2. I find it clear that they already got a robust "dont trust the driver" thing implemented. Sometimes on autosteer, I dont even get a warning before it flips out and disables it for the rest of the drive. Perhaps thats because I let it go to the blue blinking thing, but otherwise I'd have to CONSTANTLY look at the screen to see if it says to yank the wheel.

  3. The issue is not battery degradation due to fast charging but more that there’s a ~ 9% battery capacity loss over 1000 days or 2 years 9 months of charging. That’s a major loss of range in less than 3 years of ownership.

  4. Sam investment you pay $15000 for something that kind of works then they upgrade the hardware and your car is basically a brick with no hardware options available

  5. Don't care about FSD, so I'm getting a Model Y shortly. Have to, because next year I can't get the rebate. And going with a competitor is pointless, because the markups at the dealerships are insane.

  6. Does Tesla’s approach to FSD NEED (millions of) human driven miles for training for EVERY iteration of compute & vision hardware. i.e. Hardware Version 3 miles differing from (and NOT interchangeable with) Hardware Version 4 miles)! Meaning; human monitored miles will (ALWAYS) be needed, each hardware revision needs its own training set of (millions) of miles!
Q: could Tesla take a hardware version 3 training set and ‘upscale’ the video to meet hardware version 4 training requirements!? Saving the need to secure discreet sets of training miles for each hardware iteration?

  7. You need to recognize that more than 98% of the 4M tesla cars have hardware 3.0 (oler ownwers were offered an upgrade from haedware 2.0 to 3.0. So all the visual date is almost done with hardware 3.0 video feed. There is no way to apply that to hardware 4.0. The few hardware 4.0 will feed the new dojo supercom[puter that it is 3X gfaster than the old envidea supercomputer chips. So hardware 4.0 need to wait. Obious to anyone that comprehends how AI workd.

  8. Great video, Ryan! We took delivery of a Model Y with HW 4 on July 30th. We just received the update for FSD last night along with the update that includes the Spotify refresh.

I tried FSD this morning and am surprised at how bad it is. It couldn’t complete one turn or intersection without disengaging.

My friend has an older Model X with FSD and his seems a lot smoother and more capable. I’m wondering if HW 4 is part of the poor performance.

Anyways, we bought with the referral so we have about 2 months left to test it out. Definitely doesn’t want to make me buy FSD at this point but hopefully V12 will change my mind whenever that becomes available for HW 4.

With all that said, the car is absolutely incredible without FSD. Basic autopilot is amazing in traffic and long road trips.

Thanks for all the great content you create. It helped us make the purchase. 🙂

  9. I initially really enjoyed the honesty of this video, and the way you were able to accurately call out all the false promises of Tesla and try to steer customers in the safest direction. But after I noticed the Cybertruck model on your shelf, I started to think about how casually some fandoms don't realize the gravity of their faith.

It's clear that you (and many Tesla fanatics) earnestly want these cars to deliver what was promised to you ages ago, and that's perfectly understandable. "For the mission!" Warning people to hold off while Tesla (eventually) "gets their software right" would make sense to, say, those hesitating to buy a video game until the developers iron out bugs. But therein lies the problem: this isn't a video game. We're talking about a mega billion-dollar corporation asking their fans to be beta testers for multi-thousand pound hunks of metal and glass hurling down interstates in public; not a jitter-free gaming experience.

It's not a matter of sacrificing time and effort to get a game running smoothly for an enjoyable experience, it's quite literally a matter of life and death.

Warning people not to plunk down $15k for "Full Self Driving" that delivers its promise of level 5 autonomy (which, let's be honest, will not happen for possibly decades) is fine to help people make wise investments, but having faith in a company which has sustained a con for this long seems reckless. Tesla not only encourages people to beta test, they make owners feel like they're providing a noble service to humanity with the data they provide to Tesla., not realizing they're actually guinea pigs.

The casual nature in which you present the "heated swimming pool"–which is quite obviously a retrofitted garbage dumpster–at the supercharger station in Germany really drives it home how much you've sadly been bamboozled by this company. It's also hilarious to me, as a skeptic.

I respectfully hope this rings some distant bells within the grey matter of any Tesla fan reading this.

  10. Would never put total trust in the operation of the FSD, no matter if it was guaranteed by Elon himself to be perfect. Not taking my hands of the steering wheel while the car is in operation. Over many years I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a sure thing. Anything can happen and usually does.

  11. Well, thanks for all this information. I got tired of waiting, now own the 2023 model Y LR vehicle, and have been driving it for a couple weeks now. Really enjoy the Hatchback style vehicle and don't see any problems with it. Yes, it has HW4 and the newer cameras.

I have no desire or need to get FSD or EAP unless the pricing comes way down, which I don't foresee that happening. This video seems to be based on not having FSD working for HW4 which again doesn't matter to me.
I wish As time goes on, hope they solve the "Fantom Braking" so we can enjoy the basic Auto Pilot with confidence the vehicle does not drastically slow down or slam on the brakes.
    Take care.
