I bought a 7800x3d on the day of the announcement because of its cheap price, but now I have another problem.
I'm locked on to the 4070Tisuper after this announcement.
But my budget will probably end up with a 4070Super or a 7800xt.
I've got a 12G vs 16G VRAM war brewing in my mind.
If AM4 is supported for a long time, it is wonderful to expect AM5.

Great summary, will be interested to see how they perform in test, but I think my 2060 will be holding out for future 5000 series 🙂
Well im finally going to upgrade if I can get a 4080 super at msrp. Looking forward to it
NVIDIA claimed the 4070 SUPER to be "faster than a 3090" while also said the 4080 SUPER will be 40% faster than a 3080 Ti in raster performance.
A real 4080 should still have had 12800 cuda cores, so there is nothing super about any of these cards.
will there be white versions and u think its worth upgrading to the 4070 ti super or the 4080 super from the 4070?
I think the 4070ti Super is the best offering of the bunch, however I'm eyeing on the 4070 Super since I only wanna game at 1440p since I have no interest in 4K but do want a powerful GPU to replace my old 1080ti and be able to do perform well at high settings as possible (with potentially using RT).
Trying to think which card would be best for me. (Especially since January is my birthday month)
This is what should have originally been released. Of course I would’ve liked the 4070 TI Super and 4080 Super $100 lower but this is competitive with AMDs offerings at least.
How is it so hard for Nvidia to slap in more VRAM?
Afaik 8GB module costs like $40 these days.
My conspiracy theory is that Stable Diffusion AI users already pay through the nose for 24GB cards(I think Moore's Law Is Dead said that most 4090 buyers at this point are people who buy them for AI work), so Nvidia plans to just edge on the border of feasibility for gamers, knowing that the AI folks have no other options other than keep buying whatever Nvidia offers them, or buy a $10k server card.
